Hopeful Departure
January 5 , 2009 - Many Aegis clients have gotten to know Lu from his deep, comforting voice over the phone, calling to remind them of their appointment the next day. Gigi or John will be taking over these duties as Luis begins the Trades Discovery Program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) today.
Over the course of the next 4 months, Luis will be exposed to 20 different trades, and gain hands-on experiences with tasks ranging from framing a small house to working on mechanical systems in aircraft.

Our best wishes and fondest hopes go with you Lu. You will be missed.

Christmas haircuts
December 30, 2008 - Angella Jennings, owner of Groomer 2 Go was good enough to squeeze Pancho and Stella in for their Christmas haircuts today. As always, knotting in the Cuban Havanese undercoat was the #1 challenge.

Pancho went first with about 30 minutes of dematting, before his actual haircut. Stella followed, and is shown being shorn by Angella above. Her coat was a little more knotted, and her patience was a little less than Pancho's, so we decided to go with a closer shave for her. |

Stella: Are we almost done yet?

Pancho: Look at me, I'm so pretty!

It's a Havanese Christmas!
December 25, 2008 - Stella was completely in character this Christmas day, offering toys to her human family members, then veering away at the last minute, putting the toys beyond their reach. What a tease!

When her human playmates grew tired of that game, she contented herself with jumping onto their laps sans the toy.
It seems the one thing she didn't quite expect was a new jacket. This one was a bit complicated, with straps for her hind legs, in addition to the usual holes for legs in front.

It seems the humans got the last laugh, as Stella didn't quite know what to do once the jacket was on (below).
