The fee for individual, couples and family psychological services at Aegis is usually $175 an hour, where an hour is taken to mean a clinical hour lasting 50 minutes.  One exception is the 2-hour, pre-group interview which is offered at $160 an hour.  Another exception is the option to pay for 4 or more sessions in advance, billed at the rate of $160 and hour.

Group services are billed only as complete programs, payable in advance.  They are based on a $40 per hour guideline.  Accordingly, a 12-session group costs $960, while a 16-session groups costs $1280.

Other billable services are pro-rated on the hourly rate and include, but are not necessarily limited to, letter writing, filling in insurance forms, and telephone calls longer than 10 minutes.  We accept cash, cheque, Interac, MasterCard or Visa.

Clients with extended health benefits may seek reimbursement from their insurance carrier. It is necessary, however, in most cases, to pay up front first. An initial 20-minute information session with Dr. Cook is available to new clients free of charge.

Missed Sessions

Clients are asked to give 24 hours notice when they are unable to attend sessions, in order to have the fee for that session forgiven. This enables their appointment time to be assigned to someone else, usually the next person on a cancellation list. If this is not possible, as in the case of sudden illness or accidental injury, the fee is also forgiven.

Otherwise, if an appointment is canceled or missed without 24 hours notice, the client, client’s parent/guardian or other third party will be billed the full session fee.
